Not fishing related but kayak cool anyway - especially at 2:07.
Probably not something I would try in the Hobie.

Our photog on the John Day trip spend a lot of time surfing the little standing waves we'd find along the way.  Looked like fun so I think most of us tried our hands.  Nothing like the size in the video but same concept.

The John Day River looks like a great trip. I did it in a raft but thought it would have been more fun in a kayak. I would buy you a couple beers to learn more about that adventure. Regarding my initial post on this topic, I found Jeffit10's Waikki post and photo shortly afterwards and it looked like he could handle those river waves.

Thanks! I read those. Great storytelling and well-presented information. But, I am betting there are details that will only be revealed after a few beverages. BTW, you guys publish a great site/magazine!
