Yaktrap and I hit Lake Sammamish yesterday launching at the state park in Issaquah about noon.  We worked our way towards the weather buoy.  If you look for the seagulls, you'll find the fish.  They are all feeding on the hatch coming out of the lake.  We were pulling lead core line at roughly 15ft down.  I ended up catching 13 cutties - the largest was about 19".

There were several boats out there trolling deep with down riggers.  I think the kayak / lead core creates a better advantage over a loud trolling motor.  Remember to crimp your barb as after Jan 1st it's single barbless hook.  The game warden was out there checking boats.

Get out there when the sun is still visible. Full report https://www.facebook.com/KayakFishingWashington

Sounds like a great day.  Agree with you on the silent kayak over the loud trolling motor.  Love it when you are en fuego and the power boaters are getting skunked.  I think it also allows us to get away with fishing shorter set backs which can be an advantage in some situations.

Your post caused me to look at Lake Sammamish for the location of the weather buoy which I seemed to remember was near the east bank about a 1/3 up the lake.  Didn't find it.

But I did find a high-wing aircraft caught by 2 consecutive photos in the middle of the lake about 1/3 uplake.

I trolled through the Sammamish slough Fri 3rd.  From 68th street bridge to bothell.  I stopped to hit the bridge pilings by letting my plastic drift down and past each pilings.  I hit up the hole I caught the pikeminnow from as well.  Caught nothing.  Thought I had a bite at one point.  No worries.  For most of my trip the slough was empty.  By end of my trip, only a couple/three peeps passed me by.  I'm guessing warmer weather will bring the little bass, pikeminnows, and sunfish to life.  I can't wait.  The slough is really the only creek like setting to kayak in in the north seattle area.  Unless someone is willing to let go of a secret.
