Hi!
A new guy to the site, not from the Northwest, I 'm in SE Wisconsin, and I love salmon fishing on Lake Michigan!
I have been fishing from an Outback Fisherman since I saw Hank Parker's first show from one.
I have gotten a bit tired of the looks my friends have given me (you know, the "let's keep the kids away from him!" looks) so I had to get another. Now the fleet includes a Pro Angler 12 & I can't wait to show a few people how much fun they have been missing!
Now I need to do a bit of customizing before the snow melts. (That's gonna cut into my hard water fishing!)

I'm looking for recommendations for rod holders, I'm not keen on the lines behind me. I looked at the YouTube series on pimpnmykayak and I like the battery box idea. Where can I get a box like that?

My Outback is pretty tricked out - Bimini shade, dodger, anchor trolley, leashes for everything, turbo fins, HD wheels, Ram mounted CB, locator/GPS.
I better sign off - I'm getting too anxious and probably won't sleep tonite!

Who knew they stock Lake Michigan with Pacific Chinook, Coho, and Pink salmon?

Do a search for "geartrac" on this site and follow the threads. I have a Scotty rod holder on a right side GearTrac in front of me.

Nice brown through the ice.one thing that made things easier for me was a Scotty gear head mount with the double ended extention.with the short base, Extention, and  gear head was $24 or $26 bucks at Austin kayak.made it so much easier to place a rod holder in the right spot for trolling and a easy grab.or anchored for sturgeon.

I'm not connecting with anything for "geartrac", but it sounds like Scotty rod holders are the preferred style.
I'll do some more looking to see if I can find something closer than Austen for parts.

Check out Yak Attack products. Just search their website.  They have a lot of cool stuff. Ram Mounts makes great products too. You can find a lot of the stuff I mentioned at Hook1. Nwka gets a sweet discount on gear with them.
