Welcome -- it's good to see the Alaskan numbers growing. There's tons of solid information here to help you as you get started collecting gear. Are you in the paddle or pedal contingent? Before I started kayak fishing, I was a fly fishing purist. Then I caught a 45# halibut on bait and, well... Not so pure any more!

Glad to meet you.

I really like the look of the OK Trident Ultra 4.7. Although I'm not sold on anything yet. Alaska waters are unforgiving and not having a verity of choices of kayaks to try its really a shot in the dark for me.

Welcome to the madness. One of my favorite places to fish is Wasilla creek. Awesome spot for silvers.

Welcome!!  Glad to see more folks here in Alaska!!

Ya like silvers? Make plans for Valdez around Labor Day.  Slayed silvers there in 2011 & 2013!  If the fishing is anything like those years, I vow to deploy my flyrod... Preferably my 4wt.  Had a blast with my gloomis ultralight in 2011. This year I was in a hurry and went 10 for 10 in two hours. Spent more time pedaling to gold creek and back then fishing.  While you can't complain about a day like that, I was kicking myself in the head for scheduling a business trip the next day!  Lesson learned!!!!

You'll find just about any info you need on this forum!
