Last weekend I was ice fishing.  This weekend the ice is breaking up on lakes in the Clearwater Chain, and the grass is turning green in the valleys.  So I dug out my kayak fishing gear and headed over to Flathead Lake for some lake trout fishing.  I caught a 25” and a 26” lake trout while downrigger trolling.

Nicely done!

Did you stay in the Big Arm area the whole day?

Yes, we did.  We launched from Flathead Lake State Park.  There was a stiff wind blowing from the northeast, so we weren't tempted to venture too far away for fear the weather would deteriorate.
