Any good suggestions for a water-taxi trip out some place with good camping (for two family tents) and good fishing? We are taking our kids out camping and packing the kayaks along as well for some fishing. Could go from Whittier or Seward. I don't know what sorts of beaches are available for a good trip like this. We typically do this with just the two of us.

Don't camp much. But fix island spit out of resurrection bay seemed super nice. Of course it's all weather dependent. Saw whales, seals, porpoises. Caught rockfish. No halibut but I hear they are there. You are shielded from a few different directions so it's a possibility. Pics from our trip. http://guidesak.blogspot.com/2013/05/fox-island-resurrection-bay-ak-may-25.html?m=1

Even a small lagoon you could safely let the kiddos kayak in.

There's also decent camping at the head of Sunny Cove on the other side of Fox Island.
