I heard about this site from some guys from Heroes on the Water and thought I'd check it out.  I'm new to fishing.  Most of my water experience is from rivers/lakes, ww kayaking/canoeing/rafting.  I don't plan on becoming a true 'kayak' angler, but I want to see what I can do from a canoe.

My interest in fishing revolves around wanting to catch fish I can eat.  It's a skill I'd like to develop, but I need some mentoring to do it.

I'm at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in WA.

Welcome aboard! I suppose being in a canoe is loads better than being on the bank. You're in a good spot to have access to a lot of good fishing in the salt and on the lake.

I actually started to think about where you'd post a Scotty rod holder on a canoe...
