What is the closest ramp to the Nisqually delta? I'd like to hit the delta for some Starry Flounder. I am not military so I can't use those access sites. Thanks!

Luhr Beach... google GPS coordinates  47.100967, -122.727138

Its a WDFW boat ramp so don't forget to display your discover pass...Drop shot a Gulp 3" swimming mullet in white or green in 40-60' of water just out past the big pilings...Good luck!

Thanks. Do you have recommendations on hook size? Last time I was flatfishing in the sound I had problems with Rock Soles swallowing hook.

Have fun, careful of the mud flats at low tide....

Had a sick day fishing the Nisqually delta today. 27 Starry Flounder and 2 Rock Sole in 6 hours. It was ridiculous. I had to stop fishing just so I could eat my left over pizza for lunch. Fish were by the big pilings in 20-40' of water. Currents get rocking in there and you guys were not kidding about the mudflats! Glad I launched and left at the high tides otherwise would of been rough. I was using my kokanee gear which made for a blast. I actually hooked a double of flounder on a sabiki rig! A lot of fun to be catching all day.

Nice haul! The Nis flats can be red hot at times, and this sounds like one of those times!

They are great fun!  Did you keep them to eat or just C&R?

One spot we have done well on Rock Sole is on the South side of Fox Island  off of the big rock. in 20-40 feet of water.  We used a smaller buzz bomb with herring smelly jelly.  Loads of fun with the kids.  That was with the big boat, so now I am planning a trip with the kayaks.  I think if I play the tides/current right it might be a nice paddle down hill both ways.

Fish on the right side that's where the fish are! John 21:6

I am no longer a dealer for Wavewalk but if you ever want to paddle one let me know!
