Multnomah shad

At Coon Island on Multnomah Channel, the north channel has a fairly fast seam of current coming through.  It is a good spot for spring chinook and shad heading up the Willamette, and fairly kayak friendly.  Im planning to head there after work a couple nights this week.

I tried fishing the Oregon City area last year via kayak and found it to be a bit of a circus.  Dozens of power boats, dozens of bankies (including a bunch lobbing giant lead for sturgeon).  Nearly got rammed by one guy in a jet sled who decided to cut in front of me to let his son out on the bank at Clackamette to go get more beer from their truck.  This was a hot Saturday, weekdays may be a less crazed.
