I'm thinking about heading down to Lk. Wa again this Saturday for a rematch (LW Bass 1, Me 0).  >:(

It should be a little better if the warming trend this week holds true.  I'm down for Sammamish as well, but it is going to be PACKED at the boat launch or state park.  Anyone game?  I plan on launching from the same spot as last time and staying till dusk.

Yeah, was thinking about hitting up Sammamish last weekend but balked when I saw the lake on Friday. You'd have to go really early in the AM for only a few hours to fish there. Lake Washington is good but from the looks of it Sammamish is more bassy. To hang out til dusk Lake Wash. would be the call.

Its the Sweyoloken boat launch (GPS coord: 47.582079,-122.186161)

I am thinking about hitting the cove on the I-90 side of the Marina including under the roadway and the point just north of the I-90 overpass.  Depending on the water conditions and the bite I may expand my area a bit...

As part of another forum (washingtonlakes.com) I am a part of, I will be bringing some trash bags with me and doing a bit of cleanup after my arrival.  This launch area didn't look all that dirty, but there is always crap once you start looking for it.

we...........mighthaveaproblem with those areas... if i am reading this [ fishing regs] and applying my greatly limited knowledge of that area correctly, we arent supposed to be fishing within 100 yds of either side of either structure...  :o

and, thanx for reposting that gps info..

I thought that only applied to the floating parts of the bridges.

BTW, might I suggest an alternate plan?  I don't think the water has warmed up much as I was out on Lake Union yesterday.  So the bass are probably in a deeper water pre-pre-spawn pattern.  I've heard some good reports from the Barbie Mill area (crankbaits!!!).  I think the closest park that may make this reasonably reachable is Clark Beach Park on Mercer Island.  It is right across from the Mill.  See the map here ... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=l&hl=en&geocode=&q=barbee+mill&near=renton,+wa&ie=UTF8&ll=47.532009,-122.207065&spn=0.02121,0.026822&z=15

Point C is the mill and to the west is the park I'm talking about.  Note: I've never even been to the park so don't know about launch feasibility.

thinking that might work.. looks like a nice paddle across too.. didnt see much on the mill side of the map to launch from... gosh the lake is so darn huge you'd think there would be plenty easy access..

gotta talk it over with the others.. btw, anyone , everyone welcome to join us, this isnt just a two or three member outing ...woulda been loads more fun the 1st time too...

Can definitely say they mean the full length of the bridge- floating and not floating.  Was stopped by the police in their boat and given a warning that 100 yards was as close to the 520 Bridge as was legal to fish--$250 fine --if they're feeling grumpy.  That was 2 months ago.
There is a thin line between hobby and insanity.

Well there you go.

It's kind of funny (not!) that there is a launch right below the bridge.  There was a police boat cruising around while I was deep dropping on one of the pylons.  They didn't pay any attention to me of all the other anglers fishing under the bridge.

the " no fishin near the bridge" restriction we've been talking about got me digging into my rule book...page 75 in print copy,  and, hey! yeah the 520 floating bridge does have the 100 yd restiction  but not the bridge you were fishing under, polepole.. thot it was kinda funny too that the cops actually launch from there and didnt say anything to you or anyone else, and that all those power boaters were drifting just under it too..

looking online for a link............got it;

Checked your link for the answer to another question of mine... Mercer Slough regulations.  Apparently the slough itself is a juvenile only fishery ???  The is the wrong thread for this, but WTF is this state's problem.  I have never seen so many restrictions before in any of the states where I have fished across the country.  I think my biggest question now is where does the lake end and the slough begin?

The link to the state's fishing reg's would be a great sticky for each corresponding state's forum.

i'll have the radio set to scan, but you should find me mostly on channel 70...have been waiting on Yar to post the details..looks like we'll be using Mercer Slough to launch , it's an easy access, easy put in place just remember to turn RIGHT into the channel to the lake.[ search the beginners of this thread he posted the gps co-ords.]. and forget about fishing in the slough itself, regs say, junveniles only.

Sorry for the eleventh hour response on this one- work and family commitments have been killing me.  Here my plan for tomorrow:

Launch from the Mercer Slough around 12:30-1pm and fish until nightfall/dusk.  Depending on the wind/chop I may venture around Mercer Island or hit up Seward park or head to Allen's suggestion of the old Barbee Mill site.  It will be a long day, so plenty of ground could be covered if the bite is fickle.  Richard and I will be hanging pretty close to each other, so if you've got a radio you can track us down via that...  If you plan on staying till the end, don't forget to bring a light just in case.

Without a closer look I think the Clark Beach Park is going to require a bit of a haul from the vehicles to the water.  Not a huge problem except Richard and I are still cartless and after a long, hot day on the water I don't want to have to drag my yak any distance.
