I'd like to get the boat out this weekend and do some fishing.  Actually, I'd like to do some catching.  Is anybody getting out near Portland or does anyone have any suggestions?

The bass should be biting on the Willamette.

That sounds like a good idea.  I have not done a lot of bass fishing in the Willamette.  Any particular areas that seem to produce more than others?

Come down to Sellwood Park on Saturday for the Summer Splash.  There are a lot of spots right around that area that I have caught many smallmouth in.  You could fish early, then hang out and talk kayak fishing with us for a while.  You could try out different kayaks while you're at it.  Other interesting vendors will have booths there too.

It has been my experience that wherever I am not fishing is better than where I am fishing.  Look for me than go across the river. ;D  Actually, I may hit the summer splash and fish in that area.  It is time for my yearly Tandem Island sailing trip.

You're funny.  That sounds like my luck most of the time.  I will see if I can make it down to the summer splash.  Thanks guys!
