What's the difference between the tarpon 160 and the 160 angler. They look exactly the same minus a couple rod holders. I noticed the angler was about 6 pounds heavier so wondering where that is.

save the dough and just go with the standard. as all kayak fishermen do, i'm sure you'll customize any yak you get (whether labeled "angler" or not) to your own liking anyways, and you'll probably find you never use the factory rod holders anyways.

Hi,
I don't  monitor this site too often. Wilderness actually provides their boat weights as a complete package. That would include accessories included, rod holders seats etc. That would be the difference in the weight you see. Many companies only advertise the weight of the boats without any seat, gear or other stuff. it makes their boats seem lighter, until you get it assembled and realize it does not weigh xx. I myself as Pro Staff still only get the bare boat when I order one. The Yak Attack gear that comes in the angler package is nice. You get the VisiCarbon pole and flag, rod holder and a few other things. It may or may not be worth the difference in price to you to get the angler package. If you have any Wilderness questions feel free to email or PM me. [email protected]
