I went out to Rogers Landing today to scout it out.

It is a very nice launch facility.  However...The motorboats were crazy.  They were giving adequate enough room to the kayaker and paddleboarder out there but what I found most annoying was the music.

These boats had sound systems to rival most home systems.  I was able to hear the music clear across the launch (by the big concrete structure).  I get on the water to relax and enjoy the outdoors,  NOT to feel like im in a club.

Is this normal for that launch or other launches for that matter?

Yes, totally normal for Rogers landing.  The canoe/kayak launch in Dundee is peaceful and not prone to such chaos.

Is that the San Salvador launch?

I have been relying on the willamettewatertrail.org map for launches.

The one in Dundee is the "Chehalem Paddle Launch".   It drops you right in the quiet stretch behind Ash Island so you can avoid the chaos of Rogers landing.  Type it into Google maps and you'll find it.

The San Salvador launch is in St. Paul.
