I wanted to share this photo of my first Starry flounder caught this weekend while trolling at 60-ish feet with a Deep Six Diver and a silver/green spoon.  Funny thing about it was that I went to pull up my rig to clear it from floating sea grass and didn't realize until the last five feet or so that I had a fish on and no sea grass.

I've had fish on the line that I didn't know about before, but nothing that big.  Neat way to get a surprise!  Looks tasty.

Nice!  I've had a 30lbs halibut come up and I thought it was weeds until it was right up to the kayak. Often when trolling the flatfish seen to just "go with the flow" until it realizes it doesn't want to get into the kayak!!

Nice fish! Starry are a great fish that don't get the credit they deserve typically. Fun on light gear and great eats!

Hey Viking, if you want a pile of starry come fish the south sound with me around November.
