Hey, I am really excited to get out and fish Sunday, I was thinking either Buoy 10 on the Washington side or Pacific City. Is anyone going out to either fishery on Sunday who wouldn't mind me tagging along? I haven't done much with my kayak yet, but I am confident in my ability to learn quickly.

If I can get my honeydo list done I may hit PC and I think BWon was trying as well don't know what day for him but Sunday looks to be the better of the two.

With the current forecast I would be shocked if there weren't quite a few kayak fishermen out at PC Sunday. So don't worry, you'll have company.  ;D

Odds are pretty good I will be on the lower Colombia this weekend. Should be pretty crazy with all the weekend warriors out there. Definitely an early morning show.
I will be on the Washington side above the bridge.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Awesome, I think I will be camping at Whalen. Is everyone fishing for salmon or bottom fishing? It sounds like trolling has been good. I have only done bottom fishing from the kayak. What all do you need to troll? Delta Diver/ weights (what size), Flasher and mooching rig etc. Feel free to weigh in. I can get around really well in my kayak, I am just relatively unfamiliar with the tackle. I can also research elsewhere if there are some good sites.

Thank you All so much!

There are tons of coho out off the coast of pretty much everywhere.  Troll plug-cut herring, brads cut plugs or spoons behind flashers.  Troll hoochies behind dodgers.  I use lead most of the time but divers work just as well.  Get your gear to troll between about 10 to 25 ft down and you're in the game.  Troll a little faster than you would for chinook - about 2 to 3 mph.  Check out ifish.net for rigging ideas.

Thanks for all the information. Hopefully I will run into someone who doesn't mind having a tagalong at Pacific City. Yakore, I will hit you up if you are out there.

Two weekends ago I was using 10 oz of weight on a slider with about a 2 foot leader from the snap swivel to the flasher. Then, a 42-46 inch leader to my herring from the flasher.  However, it only seemed to hook wild ones. :dontknow:  I have an 8 foot rod, so I am close to the maximum in overall leaderage (new word I just invented) I can use and still net the fish myself with the combined leaders and flasher length. As Rawkfish said, 2-3 mph was the ticket.
