I had the pleasure of fishing with JoJo and Monkeyfist at PC this morning.  They targeted bottom fish and I fished for salmon.  I caught 5 all together, one 6lb hatchery fish and 4 natives all in the 10 to 12 lb range.   It took all I had to not stuff one of them into my hull.  I heard a few radio calls between the charters complaining about all the natives as well.  They said that they were going out to 270 feet to get away from them??  Don't ask me why they wouldn't be out there also.  Monkeyfist also got a salmon and jojo got some huge sea bass but I will let them tell the story.
Here's a pic of my little keeper.
.

Here's a pic of my largest native.  Hard to get a good pic without removeing it from the water.

That sounds like a great day!  Those saltwater coho are my favorite eating fish.  Were there any chinooks out there?

I didn't see or hear of any caught today, but there were a few caught when I was out last weekend.  They aren't far off.

Nice job!!!

I tend to find the Chinook much closer in and right on the bottom.  They're out there....

So do you use a different setup for the chinook?  Or just let more line out?   I was trolling a herring with helmet, a kone zone flasher and a deep six diver.

What are you talking about?  I thought I read somewhere that you need to go out about 7 miles for Chinook.  ;)

Sounds like an awesome day.  How far out were you when you were targeting salmon?

You can catch them in as little as 30 FOW.

I got some bad advice from one of the charters, so I trolled out to about 200 feet.  There were a lot of boats out there but not many fish.  I caught all my fish in about 90 feet just south east of the rock.

Cool post, thanks for the report. I will be targeting some of those fish out of my pontoon on the Stucca soon!
