Fished last couple of hours of incoming tide. Stiff breeze from north - 15 mph or so. Biggest swell I've fished - 4+ ft and close together. Surf not too bad. Good for drift though - wind almost entirely countered tide - easy hover.

My personal best! 40+ lbs? Bottomed out 30 lbs Boga Grip. Also caught a 15 pounder.

Interesting note - every fish I caught this summer had a stomach full of crabs, and I mean full - easily 30+ in the bigger fish. Fish today? Both had EMPTY stomachs! Nothing but a little gravel.
Good things come to those that wade.

Nicely done.  I was there yesterday and it was a postcard perfect weather. How far did you go out and what depth did you fished?

I don't have a depth/fish finder, but I fished in 35 to 50 ft, approx 1 mile off (a total guess).

Rudy - how long will the stay around? I'm guessing with empty stomachs they'll need to leave soon. And keep us posted on feeder kings - I want to try it! ;-)

Should be ok through September. I've seen them caught in November by the buoy in Honer. Though it slows way down. I'll start looking for kings at the end of the month I think!

I want to try trolling for kings and few more tries at landing some butt.  The weekend forecast looks like a wet one so let me know if anyone is interested.

NOAA marine weather forecast, which seems to change daily, says NE winds 20, seas 5 ft for Thur and Fri - would need to lay down a bit for me to try WG. And timing not great to fish my preferred incoming tide.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
