which kayak?

I'm learning so much from this forum, thanks to all. If you were interested in fishing Portland rivers and Oregon coast which model of Hobie would you buy? Pro anger series?, Outback?, revolution? any of your thoughts would be appreciated. thanks

Depends on who you are and what you're looking for. How much do you weigh? What do you want to catch? Where are you mostly going to fish? Have you kayaked before? The Revo is considered by many to be the best all around Hobie.

Just demo them all before you buy.

This is a good time to be looking for a kayak. A lot of new models and some updates to old models are coming this fall.

Hobie kayak's are great but you might give the others a try.

Your question has been raised many times. After many lines of debate and tens if not hundreds of personal stories, the answer is always "What works for you". Demo, demo, demo. Next Adventure in Portland and the Kayak Shed in Hood River would be happy to assist you.

I have the Pro Angler.  It has done me well on lakes, the Columbia, and the Snake.  It would not be my first choice to take out in the salt.  The seat is too high and the kayak is very wide.  It would be very difficult to land in the surf.
