Family vacation to the northwest this week with Karen and Molly. Looked at real estate on Saturday and did some hiking on Sunday. Monday decided to do some recon on Lacamas Lake. Thinking about moving to Camas next year so this would be my main fishing lake. Bought a 1 day out of state Washington fishing license for $20.15 at the Big 5 at the Couv. Took a hike around Round Lake first and didn't launch until 11AM. Bass boats were already pulling out and said fishing was really slow. Lots of bankies soaking worms for sunfish and perch. Paddled the east shore to avoid the wake boarders and tubers. Pulled a JSR 3 and JSR 5. Water temp 75 degrees with fair to poor water clarity. Finally hooked a small fish which I believe was a perch. I have never seen one but it looked my "perch" Rapala lures.  :spittake: Paddled the whole lake and had a great time. Beautiful warm day. Had a nice lunch in downtown Camas. Karen and Molly had a great time too. Life is good.

Welcome to the Pacific North Wet.  Lacamas Lake is good kayaking lake.

Don't forget to try the Camas Slough for bass, and the big C for just about everything that swims up here.

Never heard of someone choosing to move to Camas.   :dontknow:

Unless you are in the paper making business, most folks avoid that city due to the smell.

Sadly, lacamas lake is one of the most unhealthy lakes in the PNW....not much lives there anymore. Almost no O2 deeper than about 8 feet.
