Found a great deal on a Gopro Hero 2 on craigslist.  Picking it up tomorrow! And after doing a search on here it looks like the monopod conversion is the best way to go?  Just thought I would ask in case there has been some other radical innovation I was not aware of.

Looking forward to getting into the video side of things!

The monopod mod is awesome. I have two of them. Make sure you rinse that thing off well if you use it in the salt.
You can even modify that mount to adapt to a RAM ball. That really opens up the possibilities. I also have a YakAttack Pan Fish/Dog Bone combo. That works pretty well too but it is pretty spendy.
