PNW, that is one old reel you are sporting there.  Nice!

Hey Paul!  Thanks for putting that up.  That was a really nice day, and fun video to watch too.  I really need to spend more time down at the coast.  Thanks for getting together and going out fishing -

Alan

Were you wearing neoprene waders and a paddling jacket?  I'm a newbie and am trying to figure out whether I need to buy a dry suit, or can use my chest waders and a top.

I'm wearing a dry top & sleeveless wetsuit over a polypro under-suit. I don't much care for the cheap-o waders. I usually wear them out in fairly short order. A dry suit is more expensive, but best as long as you're wearing an under garment that can protect you from hypothermia if you happen to go in the water. Almost every yak angler does eventually, especially if you fish PC or other areas that require a surf exit. If you're close enough to shore to get your feet on the sand, it usually isn't an issue, but if you're in over you head, you'll get cold quick w/o protection. For obvious reasons, surf breaking on a rocky reef or shoreline is something to avoid. For appropriate outer-wear, check this out: http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=3276.0
