fishing was slow all over the lake, dam closed up tight as a frogs tailpipe (water level is high, they are due to open it soon and that should mean several days of excellent fishing!!!!).  we spent 6 hours out in the 'Coho Bandit' and had sunny, rain, mixed clouds/sun...all the possible light conditions, I was changing lures and colors the whole time...one big coho hit my lil'cleo right by the kayak and splashed me with it's "victory" roll as it swam off to hide in the reeds....we saw 'coosbayaker' and 'dude' out in their kayaks also searching for biting fish, hopefully they found some...cheers, roger

Yaksurf and I launched from Nightingales Sunday. I spent 4 hours trolling and throwing spinners. Nada! Saw one dark fish caught in front of the resort. Still, a nice day to be out on the water!

Monday noon:  lake level high (full), dam not open.

for those not familiar with Siltcoos, it is a seriously 'spurty' salmon run, due to weather and dam operations, it fills with coho and then most of them leave several times each Fall, from early Oct to early Dec.

go on the correct day, woo hoo.  a day or 2 later, long day of nada....
