Greetings from a very cold east coast.  My name is Joe but I use the handle "ganto".  I discovered this site while looking for an alternative to the use of heavy SLA batteries.  I then discovered the thread on the use of lithium ion batteries and in doing so I learned a great deal from a number of members so I decided to join to continue to learn and hopefully pass on a few things that I have learned.

So...about myself.  I've been fishing out of a kayak for about 10 years now.  I started with a Pungo 120, then after realizing how tough it was to fish out of a SIS, I bought a Tarpon 120 which I fished out of for a number of years until in 2009 I discovered the Hobie Outback.  I used the 2009 for three years then switched to a 2012 until just recently when I sold the 2012 and bought the new 2015 Outback which is sitting in my garage while I watch the snow fall with 4-8 inches expected. I also have a Tarpon 100 that I use when the river water gets skinny and too shallow for the Hobie.

I am primarily a freshwater fisherman with my favorite targets being largemouth and smallmouth bass and Muskie.  I addition to local lakes, I fish most of the local rivers (Susquehanna, Delaware, Lehigh, etc).  I'm retired so I get out a good bit.  I also fish Chesapeake Bay occasionally, primarily for Striped Bass.

I'm looking forward to following the topics on this board, contributing where I am able and helping to grow the sport of kayak fishing wherever I can.

Greetings Joe and welcome aboard!
