Hi everyone. My name is Greg just moved here bout a month ago. Originally from Philadelphia, but coming here from ky. I have a 10.6 foot trophy 126 angler kayak. I usually fish for bass and catfish. I'm looking to start fishing around here soon. I have not been in a kayak here yet but looking forward to it. I have tried fishing of a 16 foot boat in the puget sound with no luck.  It seems fishing is a little different here. Water is definitely rougher than I'm used to even in the lakes.  I'm looking to try and go out this weekend if anyone is available to show me around. I have only been kayaking for bout a year, but like I said never been in this rough of water before so I'm up for any advise. Also a new fisherman as far as knowing tackle and equipment for all the different fish. Don't get me wrong I know the basic just not super knowledgeable. Lol.

Welcome to the South Sound! I was a military transfer to here back in 2008. Have since become a civilian local. It's a great place to live and fish, but there's a definite learning curve. Give me a holler come spring. There are fish to be had in the winter, but being green to the PNW with no drysuit you're best to wait a couple of months. Would be happy to have you out with our crew though!

Two local lakes for bass and catfish are Kapowsin and Ohop to your southeast.
As "poly" said  there is a bit of a learning curve.
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

Thanks to all for your help. I am definitely looking forward to the spring time here, but for now I think I am going to try some fishing just to get use to the area and the waters here. In the spring time and summer I will be up to go out if anyone wants to go also. My wife says I eat, sleep, work and fish. lol
