Another downrigger mount

Hey just wanted to share how I mounted my Scotty 1073 downrigger.  I used a super ridgid cutting board I found at Fred Myers and shaped it with a sander to conform around the seat mount and paddle holder.  It's held in place by u shaped brackets which are rivited to the yak with washers on the rivets.  Then the board is secured to the kayak with I bolts and wing nuts.  The I bolts were heated and bent open to create hooks.  The whole operation takes a couple minutes to assemble and disassemble.

I'm always impressed with what people come up with. I think that's the cleanest setup I've seen yet.

You could use the same base to mount a Cannon Lake-Troll downrigger, which is a lot nicer downrigger than the Scotty 1073.
