Hey all. So i recently purchased a OK Scambler 11. I bought it to have a second yak for my girlfriend or friends if they want to join in the festivities.
My dilemma is that I was to install scotty mounts so that i can easily attach and detach rod holders and other accessories, but the problem is that I want to put a backing plate on it so that I have more confidence in case it takes a hard yank it wont just rip out. The kayak does not have any hatches that are accessible to get inside the hull so there is no way of putting on a backing plate or washers on the bottom.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do to have a more secure mount?
All replies are appreciated. Thanks guys.

Did you just use a standard rivet gun?
Since these are extra long does it require any special tools?
