Hey I'm Vince.  I was born and raised in Maryland and in 2012 moved out to Big Sur, CA and now I'm in Coos Bay, Oregon.  Raised fishing for smallmouth in the streams back east, stripers/reds/blues in the bays, and have done a good amount of offshore fishing for tuna, mahi mahi, and marlin.  Been fishing all over the country in many different ways but kayak fishing is pretty new to me.

Just recently acquired a FeelFree Moken 14 and I am down to start kayak fishing.  I am a wildland firefighter and work in California in the summer and fall so I thought a kayak would be a nice portable way of getting out on any kind of water wherever I wish.  Really looking forward to getting on the water and learning a lot from the people in this group after being a long time lurker.

We're down in Port Orford.  Glad to have another member up north.  :D
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

I grew up in Port Orford and could never figure out why they referred to Coos Bay as the "south coast". ???

There's good smallmouth bass fishing on the upper Coquille.

Thanks for the welcoming comments!  Lingling, I've seen some of your videos and they are pretty sweet.  I'm in Maryland right now for a couple weeks and then I will surely be contacting you guys to get out there fishing.  While I'm out here I'll see if I can't hook a few winter Pickerel or maybe Pike.

Indeed. I always think "which one?" when they say that.
