Sean "Scwafish" White of NCKA and the Great White Kayak Company just announced the dates of his 2008 tournaments.

Quote
Finally got things wrapped up with the nice folks at the GCC...so here are the 2008 dates:

CSBA is on May 3rd.  We must show in mass so a kayak HAS to win this year!

Elk IV is August 1st thru the 3rd.  I will provide ample warning for signups.  Get ready!!!

BAM IV is October 3rd thru the 5th. Lets make this the BIGGEST event on NorCal history and break the 100 kayak mark in 08!!!

Signups will be on my new site in a few weeks.  Mark your calendars NOW!

All three of these tournaments are held in Mendocino County California.  BAM (Bendo at Mendo) and CSBA (California Striped Bass Association) are both striped bass tournaments held at Lake Mendocino near Ukiah, CA.

Elk is a rockfish/lingcod tournament held in Elk, CA on the Mendocino coast.  Of the three tournaments, Elk is probably the hardest to enter in that it is usually limited to 50 entries whereas the others are unrestricted.

In many ways Elk and BAM are the premier kayak angling tournaments in Northern California.  If people have any interest maybe we set up a can car pool.

Oh man, I'd still love to hit Elk. I had it all planned for the first Elk, when the car I was going to leave with the wife and kids started acting up the morning, before I was to leave. It was a rough day. :'(

The Elk tourney is limited to the first 50 people to sign up.  It's a bit like trying to get tickets to a very popular concert, the spaces go very quickly.  The past two years their was a notice of when sign up would start about a day or two before and when the sign up did happen all the spots filled in less than an hour.

If you're serious about going let me know and I'll do my best to forward any intel about sign up I may get from NCKA.
