There's a yellow Hobie Outback for sale in Anchorage...it looked in really good shape   It was from an 19 Jan ad on craigslist.  I think wheels were included, as well as some other stuff.   It's still on craigslist if you're interested.  It's showing for sale for 1900, but they texted me the lowest they'd go is 1500 which is perfectly reasonable.

Hey,

I am not 100% yet but fairly certain that I will have extra room on my kayak trailer when I drive up there May 01, and I will be there (Seward) by May 15. I was thinking about buying a kayak down here and selling it up there to make some money.

If you are finding that the shipping is really expensive, I could pick up a kayak for you and deliver it for much less.

I am a very trustworthy honest guy. I teach in K-4th grade classes in California and I got a job deckhanding in Seward for the summer.

If it is at all interesting to you, shoot me a PM.

Tyler

Id be curious who it is. Got a first name? Hoping it's not a bob or Patrick....I convinced those two to buy a kayak and I think they both got kayaks. Haven't fished with either of them yet. :-(

We went with Austin Canoe and Kayak. Got $100 shipping for yak and accessories.

I have an aversion to AK Raft & Kayak. Just known for being too expensive on their up-charges. Sad to hear that they may become the local Hobie dealer...but so goes the market.

They are high end. But Hobie pretty much controls pricing so ii'm going to assume he will have to follow suit.  He's going to order PAs and outbacks first.  He will have them mid March.

I heard from higher powers that your better half was excited for you two fishing the winter derby. Small world!

On that subject it was Awesome running into polepole at the airport and having beers with Fungunnin in Seattle! Thanks for taking the time to pick me up and showing me some great beers Bill! We will do it again!!!!!

I just got a new rig from Kayak Shed.  With Shipping and $500 worth of accessories it was still cheaper than AK Raft & Kayak
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Ak raft and kayak is definitely higher end. But they should be getting better pricing now that they are the official dealer. They used to have a middleman in Seattle  I guess I went with them because I didn't want a kayak shipped and damaged and have to deal with an outside vendor. If it's banged up, they won't sell it.   Hopefully he sells enough to make the shipping competitive.
