New To The Board

Hey guys,

I am new to the board, Ive been fishing out of Native Watercrafts for about 6 years now and out of kayaks for a few years before that. I work out of the Gig Harbor Fly Shop and maybe know a few of you guys from selling you a Native or in the next few weeks maybe we will be meeting some of you due to being the newest Hobie Dealer in the area. I hope to meet you guys out on the water. Cheers guys, and thanks for having such a useful resource for kayak fishing!

I may even be in the market for a Propel.  Having surgery in a couple of weeks to fuse a couple of neck vertebrae, and wondering if it'd be better than a paddle yak like I have now.

Roxndox, I know the feeling!  got some trouble in my c-spine as well.  Trying to hold off on that surgery (4, 5, and 6).  Had to lose the motorcycle, but the yak can stay for now! If it's not a real marathon trip, in decent weather the paddling seems to do me a little good, but the hobies do look like they will be in my future... 

I know a few people back east who had gotten into them after neck and/or shoulder injuries and never looked back.  Some days (read: Cold Days) it can give me some real  trouble to paddle even a mile or two...  Good luck on that surgery as well!

I did get down to the GH Fly Shop today and was able to test-float a Slayer Propel 13, thanks to Justin and his crew.  It was quite a difference from my paddle boat as you can imagine.  The seat was great and one of these babies would be wonderful for fishing - and pedaling would sure be easier on the neck...  Now I just have to save up my pennies 😊
