Howdy all, I just recently picked up a kayak--a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 Angler. Was originally looking at getting a cheaper one at a large sporting good stores, but decided I may as well spend a little extra to get something that lasts, hah. I also have a wood drift boat and am known to go banking to chase salmon and steelhead out on the Wilson/Sandy/Trask. Getting the boat out takes some doing and an extra vehicle, however, so I'm really looking forward to the expanded freedom of owning a kayak.

Favorite haunts include Hagg (sans party-goers), Trillium, parts of the Wilson, Sandy, and Trask. I also keep an eye on a few smaller bodies of water they like to throw steelhead in at the end of the year. So many options!!

I'm really looking to trying to figure out how to fish the Willamete or Columbia, or even Tillamook Bay from a kayak. These are areas I wouldn't even consider with my wood drift boat, but parts of them seem viable from kayak. I've been reading some great articles and threads that give me inspiration!

This weekend, I'm hitting Silverton Reservoir with a buddy on Sunday (06/07). We're both greenhorns, so it'll probably be a good laugh.
