Hi everyone,  I am new to kayak fishing but looking to purchase my first kayak this Summer.  I am an active Fly fisher and rod builder, and am getting sick or relying on friends to take me out on the Saltchuk for Salmon, and bottom fish.  I also have a pontoon boat for the lakes and drifting rivers, although I will probably start on lake or close to shore on the Chuk to start.

Welcome! Good to see another Islander on here. I live in Metchosin and mainly fish Juan de Fuca strait in the Sooke area for salmon. There are a few kayak fishermen in your neighbourhood--Backroads Baddler is one who is in Nanaimo.

Thanks T2,

Still just getting set up and will hopefully pick up a kayak in the next few weeks.
