We did most of our fishing on Conconully Lake, though we did spend a few hours on the reservoir getting the tandem rigging worked out to our liking.

Bonaparte Lake is gorgeous but we didn't see any action that day.  We were trolling for the most part using lead core, and this just doesn't seem to be working out yet.  Think I need to add a drop sinker...

Conconully Lake produced some nice trout at about 40' depth.  The first picture is my first fish from the kayak.  My son had a good run the next evening, catching his "first fish" ever and three more in quick succession -- he'd caught a nice salmon last year but didn't set the hook so he called a Mulligan.  All the trout were caught on a "wind drift" south of the launch.

A camping neighbor picked up two Kokanee a couple days later and further up the lake.  He's been fishing that lake for 35 years and these were the first Kokanee he's seen there.

We did spend mid-morning Friday at the Brewster Salmon Derby and saw a LOT of fish on the finder at the confluence of the Okanogan and Columbia Rivers, but they were feeding early and it was over 100 degrees that day.  We didn't head back for Saturday or Sunday.
