So after a delayed start, due to road closure, made it to the gulch early Saturday morning. Slept a couple hours then got down to business. After little success I decided to try anchoring. My set up worked add expected with a quick release shackle. I hooked what felt like a submarine, got off the anchor with no problem, then pulled the hook before I could get it up so no dice there. Went out again this morning, first drop, got the rod out and started messing with the FF, only to be interrupted by a screaming bait clicker. The only halibut of my weekend was an ambitious 12 pounder that hit like a giant. But all is well that ends well. Hopefully the big boys come back soon.

I guess I should have headed out with you. There wasn't much going on shallow.
