Yesterday I wrapped up my 2015 salmon season with 3 more beautiful  bright coho from the Columbia and klickitat. It was a hell of a year for me.I hooked my first Chinook this year at drano lake .its going to be hard storing the salmon gear away for the winter when there are still salmon to be had.with only a small fraction of the coho run we had last year I still managed to put way more coho on deck than last year in far fewer trips.9 consecutive trips of bringing home salmon.17 total,3 Chinook 14 coho.I couldn't find success with the protroll and brads super bait this year like everyone else. The homemade prawn spinner, homemade hoochie spinner, and home cured prawns is where I found my success. It's amazing how rewarding it is to it is catch your first Chinook on something you painted, tied, and cured up.now its time to stash the rods and clean reels and gear, and be a husband again to a neglected wife that puts up with my addiction. Let's hear about your 2015 now that I'm done rambling.

Congrats on a great season.  Nice bright coho pic.  I love that spot this time of year.  Has fishing outside or inside been more productive for you this fall?

I love the mouth of the Klickitat. My salmon season was really only four days long, but my son and I brought in 19 nice fish and put away over 100 pounds. If that area is still producing I'd be tempted to go back up again.

Outside has been very productive. I have only been inside a few times due to the reduced limit.

the water was 45 outside and 31( according to the ff) inside yesterday. Fish were very willing despite the cold water. lost several before hooking up.

So tempted, where are you launching? We were camping at Memaloose and launching at Mayer. The natives kind of blocked the Lyle ramp last season but it's a bit closer. We were just hover fishing with eggs and sand shrimp but it was really productive. Looking forward to trolling too, work was that tuna in SuperBait was hot after the hover season ended. Was really hoping to see some Coho action as the season progressed but never got back up there. SnoPro, you up for one more shot at it? I could be up there Friday.

I'd like to.   It's looking like a possible snoho chance.   Trying to make those outings an annual event.

Lyle launch is the way to go after mid October.

Snohomish River coho, I assume, but last year the term got used for any coho catching in the snow, as I recall? :)

Report from today was no one on the water, 2 fish still fairly easy, but the fish finder is starting to show things a bit thinner, if you're going to go don't wait, one of these days it will turn off I assume. I'm only relaying info; I'm no expert up there - that's all Yaktastic.

Speaking of which: CONGRATS to Yaktastic on an awesome salmon year. He really puts in the time to figure out an area and it shows. And he's nice enough to help out his salmonidae-challenged friends like me find fish.

So, Yaktastic, what are you doing with all your free time now? Any more fishing adventures for you yet this year?

This spot is at the mouth of the Klickitat on the Columbia River.  I used "snohos" in a post title last year for Coho caught in the snow at the same location.  Fairly common slang when they are caught in snowy conditions.

With a Seattle area river that starts with the same letters I can understand the confusion.  Sorry about that.

Might try for some "icehos" at Lyle tomorrow.

They're still there, lol...but not as hot as it was. Did not go upriver , though . It's  amazing how the rest of the gorge was blown out , but the Klick was at 3 mph . Yeah, thanks,  yaktastic!

I was heading out to work on some corrals and I asked dberd if he caught anything yet and he sent me a picture that made my day go by so much slower ha-ha. Thank you redbeard but I'm no expert just found a groove that works.

Well my wife was not surprised when I told her I was thinking of going out again this weekend lol. She laughed cuz she knows I got a healthy addiction.plus she's working sat and Sunday so that would leave me home alone to do you know cough cough house stuff  ;D

Looks like I'm a no-show for Snoho this week. Maybe next week if there's still action available. Let me know if anyone's going out.
