I've used a lot of different trap types in the past few years, and have settled for the Promar TR-102W.  I've beaten them to hell, I've left them out for weeks at a time, and they more or less have held up.  Gotta patch a broken strand every now and then but no big deal.

The fact that they collapse down easily means I can run 4 pots without worry about overloading the kayak.

The only downside I can think of is that with the mesh size smaller than the Danielson, you end up hauling a bunch of shorts up.  Heavy pots and lots of culling work.

Those look pretty cool, where do you buy them? I can't say I recall seeing them local up here.

Danielson pots are always good for the beginners I've been using  the same pot for the last 10 years and if I happen to lose it or heaven forbid it gets stolen they are cheap to replace!

Many of the local stores down here carry them.

Make sure to put some lead weights on your doors if you think you'll soak your pots through a tide change.  I like having one trap and one ring.  Fish the ring every 20  minutes.  When you get a good ring, drop the pot/trap.

Most people that I know use the cheap Danielson traps. You can usually find them on sale for like 12 bucks. I add an extra 5 lbs to keep them from walking away. They fit across the back of a kayak pretty well. I never bother with more than one.

Thanks for all the replies and technique suggestions! Looks like I'll ditch my milk crate in favor of a crab pot!

Not sure if you can see it clearly, but the mesh bait bag in PNW's photo is really awesome.  If you double them up the bait lasts forever.  Andy Jade's cousin taught me that one!  Bait o' Eggs on Ifish.

You can get those bags at Englunds and elsewhere. They come with the stainless clip.

I too use the net bait bags as well.  They pack down flat when not in use, and can actually be left in the trap when it is folded up.
The only down side to them is that crab pinchers can really chew them up over time so they will need replaced on occasion.
