Hello, I have been living in WA for 38 YEARS but not fished much here. Grew up fishing in Colorado. Mush easier rules there. Getting used to the regulations here in WA.
I have a Pro Angler 12 all rigged out hoping to do more fishing in 2016 after I retire.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Gromitdog! I also live in Marysville. What kind of fishing are you planning on doing? Feel free to me a pm if you want to hit the water sometime. I've been doing pretty well crabbing at kayak point lately. Also the 7 lakes area is still good for trout.

Welcome to the addiction - rules as far as what, when, where, and how many get confussing at times, but as far as equipment it simple. Single barbless hook will always be required in Puget Sound when it comes to fishing for salmon.  The rest just ask the question on this forum and someone will give you the answer and may even give you there where (hot spot). I ask or will stumble across it reading this forum during each of the season run.  See you out there.

Hello, I know trout fishing and want to do more here in Washington but also want to learn how to fish Salmon here in the local water ways (sloughs). My brother-in-law has taken me out twice in his jet boat and we were skunked.
Have yet to catch a Salmon and want to on the Kayak. I also bought a crab trap and was also going to go to Kayak pt but have not made it yet. The lack of easy put-in places for Kayaks are bad here around the river and my heavy Pro Angler 12 is hard to manage sometimes. I have been kayaking for than 30 years or more and the Pro Angler 12 is my favorite. My wife and I built a 21 foot three man Baidarka Kayak...beautiful but  uncomfortable for me. I will have to take up on fishing around the area. The more I learn the better.  Thanks   Kevin Stout
