I'll plan to bring some backup gear just in case we shift to bay clams--plenty of them out there and easy to get.

1 trench digging shovel, 2-3 hand spades, and 6 or so wooden dowels is enough to outfit a team of 5 to hit easy limits and provide different roles depending on interests (scout to find & flag 'em; excavator to dig a side trench; retriever to extract 'em). Only thing is that they tend to be in mud flats rather than sandy beaches.

Well we have a maxed out with a dozen Veterans signed up to paddle and dig.
I was going off of this map that says there are razors on the outside. If we can't find them direct hate mail to them.

I would love to help but I don't think I'll be in the area until later that day.  I'll know sooner to gametime if that changes.

 but-

Isn't the area closed to razor clams because of elevated domoic acid levels?

Unless reopening is imminent?

Fuck I didn't see this. Bay clams it is I guess.

It looks like I can't make this. If I can I'll just show up.

I'll be there with my brother at an adjacent campsite. Will bring extra hand spades, wooden dowels, and gloves for digging clams in mud flats. Looks like it'll be a bit nippy, haha.

Heading out there Friday evening to set up camp. Will be the maiden voyage of my brother's first 'yak. Should be fun!

We had one of our most awesome events to date today! Turns out kids young and old love to play in the sandbox.

Thanks to everyone that turned out to help including Kykfshr (Scott) and Snarf. Game balls go out to SamM, Mojo, and Spencer on logistics, food, and safety.

(Disclaimer: Netarts is both a gem and a wicked bitch. If your timing is poor you are going to have a very bad day. Know before you go.)

Thanks to Anthony and the other volunteers who showed up on Saturday for the HOW Netarts Clam Dig!  As the photos above show, it was a messy great time for our vets.  I think they all left with a nice haul of bay clams!

Looking forward to the 30th...
