Happy New Year everyone!!!

Well it’s a little anti-climatically after putting together my son, Ryu’s 2015 highlights.

But I had my share of moments this year as well.  After ending 2014 with a 4 month streak of catching a king salmon from a kayak here in Alaska, I ultimately catching a king for 14 consecutive months.

I caught numerous halibut salmon using a Kiddie rod and got some decent underwater footage.

Still the highlight of the year was gaining my son as a bonafide kayak angling partner.  I also got to fish with a quite few new folks this year.  I hope that trend continues in 2016.

Tad long as usual for an annual highlight video.

Awesome 2015 recap Rudy.

Those kiddie poles are a freaking blast huh?

Looking forward to a great 2016 season, and a happy new year to you.

Awesome fish and camera work. I really need to work on my camera skills, primarily remembering to turn it on.

What a fun year it was! Thanks for inspiring me to get out there. Looking forward to winning that next trophy!
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

Excellent video Rudy. One of my favorites  was seeing your kid land those salmon. Biggest  grin I've seen all year. I've thought about the sinker swinging all over the place and thought about using a sinker release somehow. It would also make the fight a little easier instead of fighting the weight the whole time too.

Very nice video as always you are an insperation to a lot of people when it comes to kayak fishing in Alaska.
I am so glad you are not like the clowns on pacific warriors there are few of them that seem cool but most of them are not. I lived in Maui for a year I get the respect thing but the territory pissing is stupid.
I remember the first day I met you you welcomed me and told me its your ocean lets go get um I can't thank you enough for all your help.
And your videos are killing me I can't wait to get back out again!
Thank Rudy
Take the sticker off your hat Bend the rim and go fishing!

/AGREE - nice work Rudy.   If it hadn't been for that whole 'living in scotland' thing I would have started kayaking with you sooner.   Your posts and web content are so helpful, and while I think the Pacific Warriors territorial thing is bullsh** I also suspect it may be hyped up by the producers to creat tensions.

In any event I have never seen it in AK in kayak fishing - I think you get some big credit in establishing the culture, we just have to keep it that way !
