In the past I've had some business calls with this cool company from Eugene/Cottage Grove. They have a for profit that supports a non profit to distribute the technology in 3rd world countries. They had a booth at the Expo Center last weekend and all their stuff is on sale through January.

Does anybody have one of these? Do you like it? I'm kind of curious how long it would take to boil enough water for a limit of crab vs. a propane jet type burner. Hauling fuel tanks kind of sucks. I would wait a few more minutes, but I am not all that patient when it comes to food in the field.

Anthony,

You will be hard pressed to get the same cooker kind (size of pot) of rapid boil for crab that you need with this. Although you can boil water with it, but only get a couple of crab in there. These guys are in my back yard practically.
Better to keep ones mouth shut and presumed a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Something else that may work though... don't try to boil them, as that's a lot of volume of water to heat and maintain a boil. Ill bet you can steam them. This way you only have to boil a smaller volume of water. Ill bet you could get this to work that way, but would have to look at and possibly re-engineer the cooker pot arrangement somehow.
