I just found this site with a link from ifish.net and am super excited about having what looks like a great with resource with lots of local knowledge.

I have a Mailbu Pro 2 Tandem to which I have added an Eagle Cuda 242 Fish Finder and a Garmin GPS 72.

So far, my kayak fishing experience has only consisted of bottom fishing near Depoe Bay.  I have had some success with a couple keeper lings and a bunch of rockfish.  I have also done a little crabbing with the kayak and find that pretty exciting as well.

I am very interested in all the info on NWKA about trolling for salmon and even sturgeon fishing.  Before finding this site, I hadn't even considered doing anything beyond bottom fishing with a kayak.

Also, I would be very interested in getting together for fishing trips around Portland or the Northern Oregon Coast.

Welcome to the Cure Argos! Yep, these yaks are plenty versatile and give you a whole new fishing experience. Plenty to check out here so have at it!

Where are you located Argos?  We've recently gotten quite a few ifish converts to NWKA and the Portland area membership has really grown.  I look forward to meeting and fishing with you some day.

Welcome argos!

What are you doing the weekend of September 20?  We'll be having a derby in Pacific City.

Sounds like you've been getting some action.  We like pics!   ;)

Howdy Argos!

Maybe I'll see you in Depoe Bay.

Thanks for the welcome!

To answer some questions:

Brian, I think I followed your link from ifish to NWKA.

I am located in Portland, but right now I keep my kayak out at Gleneden Beach, just north or Boiler Bay.

I am probably going to be on the coast around the 20th, so I might make the derby.

Welcome to the site, Argos.

There is a lot more than just bottomfish that can be caught of a yak. Google up Jim Sammons and Dennis Spike if you want to see some more ideas. >:D
