Moisture wicking layers...no cotton. I usually wear some fleece pants over long johns...wool socks...upper layers depends on how cold it is, but same principal. Also stick some foot warmers onto my feet. I wear neoprene gloves. I might see you there, I'll be there 19-21 weather permitting.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

Thin long john top and bottoms.  Thick fleece pants.  Thin fleece top.  Heavy wool socks with thin wool liner socks.  Thin Merino wool glove liners under heavy-duty nitrile gloves.  Warm fleece hat goes on/off to regulate temp when I'm on the water.

How cold do you get? I could go naked under my dry suit and still probably sweat most the time.

I have both Underarmor and Cabelas branded long underwear.  I generally wear the underarm as base layer in winter, then second layer above that OR a fleece top and bottom, depending on the temps.   Above 20 I have been OK with two mid-weight layers on body.   Feet = 2 wool sock layers or 1 wool and one wicking thin sock liner.  I have to keep the sock layers thin enough to get my feet into my neoprene scuba booties.   If in the teens, I generally put a foot warmer between the sock layers so it doesn't come off when suiting up.

For my gloves I have a pair of Simms neoprene gloves that I like quite a bit.   Much more fitted than my old neo gloves, and they held up well in the fall and early winter.   We'll see how they do for spring fishing soon.    Windproof fleece hat tops the costume.

All of the above has worked well for me for at least several hours if the wind is not too bad, in temps down to around 15 degrees, at which point my hands won't last more than 2 hours.
