I fished the river yesterday, launching at the WDFW ramp at Ward Creek. Not much happening up there yet. Only saw a couple roll. No hits. Saw one jack caught. That's all. We had hoped the rain would draw more fish up the river, but it seems they are still in the Bay. It was calm in the morning, and we saw some rigs headed for the S Bend ramp. We were in my buddy's 15' skiff, as my clutch is going out. I was going to throw in at Brady's this morning and head up into the Elk River, but my right knee feels like its going out.  Weather conditions have also deteriorated since then, and the wind is up. Seems like everything is going to Hades in a handbasket around here. At least I was enjoying the ride.

Some of my friends have been getting some in the bay. Was good last Friday. Sat was OK, according to a guy I know who went. His boat only got one 15 lb King and a small Coho, though. Rained hard Sunday morning.

Rained hard here all last night again.

For the Bay, I would be tempted to launch at the Smith Creek ramp because it won't cost me anything, except maybe $2.50 more gas to drive the extra distance, R.T.   The Tokeland ramp costs $5 to use, but it is closer to the action, and the gas savings makes it only $2.50 net.  S Bend is a longer drive for me.
Raymond City Park charged $2 last time I launched from the ramp there a couple years ago.

I'm trying to find some free places to just throw in at. If my knee doesn't go out altogether.
