Is anyone going out fishing on friday? I have a flight I have to catch in portland at 5pm so I'm either going somewhere near albany, or looking for some one I can go with and pick up my yak on sunday evening. Anyone interested?

Not Friday but there are some of us planning on going to Hagg Lake Thursday to sail around and do some fishing...

There will be a fleet of us going out of Sunset Bay on Friday if you want and are able to get salty. In fact if you want to carpool with me from Eugene you are welcome. I've got lots of room and space on a trailer if you need.

Where do you guys look up the weather conditions for Sunset Bay?  I've never fished there, but it's on my salty destination list for sure.  Hope to see some good reports from this Friday and hope the wind settles down.

Magicseaweed.com. Sunset bay has virtually no surf on a good day.

i wish i could go out of sunset, but since my flight is out of portland, and i should be at there airport no later then 4pm that would be a very tight schedule.

My go-to is Magicseaweed.com. You can change the location to look up conditions specifically for Coos Bay. Sunset is unique in that it is fairly protected. Its kind of a bay inside of a bay. Of course the fishing is better outside, but even in moderate conditions there are fishable grounds inside.  The launch is about as gravy as it gets. There is no surf. Great for beginners there!

Sorry you cant join us Williamesch. Another time perhaps.

Indecently... There is a .26 low tide at 4:06. Looks like the wind will likely blow us off the water around noon. I will head over to the South Slough for a limit of clams. Bring a bucket and a shovel!
