Nice job with the early springer and thanks for the post!
I have started patrolling those waters but with no fish to show for it yet. I took a friend on the 2nd who caught a 22 pounder out of that spot and I have seen a few other fish caught but it has been a slow start for this springer fool.
I'm looking forward to getting out again soon and seeing lots of kayaks out on the troll.

I'd be interested to know this too - been wanting to try a few places in the downtown reach.

Sellwood Park. Willamette Park is a good alternative, but parking is metered. Check the park website for meter times.

Be aware if you want to launch from Sellwood park:

1. There is no trailer parking.

2. There is no ramp into the water. You have to carry/cart your kayak down to a dock then get in off the dock, or get your kayak off the dock onto shore and then shore launch.

Just a head's up for any other tandem-users out there  ;)

I do too. I just unhooked my trailer and put it beside me in another parking spot. It's not a very crowded park (on most days, early) so this is an option if unhooking your trailer isn't too much hassle. There isn't anything nearby that I know of.

Willamette Park is just across the river.  As mentioned above, it does cost to launch there, while Sellwood Park is free.

Well yeah, I meant there's no place to drop your kayak off at Sellwood and then park nearby and walk back to your kayak.  :)

Might be a good day to test out the rain gear and those "high water" techniques. ;D Turbidity is high now and will continue to climb well into next week for the Willy. The Columbia above the Willy mouth might fish though.

Anyone going out Sunday?

I'm thinking about hitting the tide change at 1st light on Sunday.  The total trolling time will be short because of the outgoing tide....though, if the wind cooperates, I might anchor up for a while and swim a quickfish.  It'll all depend on the wind forecast.  PM me Lee, if you want me to keep you updated on my go/no-go decision.

Yeah in the Willy temp is back down, flows are double the typical, and turbidity has spiked. Better to focus on the big C for a bit.
