CHIRP model? The 9ah battery is working well for me so far, I've no complaints.

I use a 9ah battery with my elite 5 w/GPS and I can fish all day on a charge. I haven't done any back to back days without charging to know if a multiday  trip is possible.

9AH has worked just fine for me too, I can get a solid day and then some out of a charge. Great units, but mine didn't come with a useful navionics chip, and I haven't had the stomach to drop a couple hundred on a chip yet. Every time I'm on the water I wish I had it though...

I have been playing with this process to make my own navionics style maps:

You can overlay satellite images as well as free navionics maps you can access through SASPlanet.

I have an updated card for my elite 5 chirp with a google earth quality main map and navionics chart overlay for my local lakes/bays just completed following the instructions on the attached link.

Looking forward to better weather to try it out...

Well, as one of the battery geeks on the forum... A 9AH SLA is a good choice if you are OK with the weight, and they are cheap enough that if you are truck camping you can carry a second if you go for 3 days of fishing and can't charge overnight.   Keep it charged when you store it, and don't discharge completely, and it'll last ok.   My elite 4 runs for two long days on a relatively new 8AH SLA Battery.

Yea I'm running a 50/200 as well. Fit in the lowrance ready slot alright, didn't have to bolt it in, it's not gonna move, tight fit but works.

I'm thinking about in hull mounting it my Lowrance cover on the bottom always ends up full of sand somehow and gives me jacked reading I have no idea how it gets in there its not like I'm dragging it backwards down the beach and 90% of the time I use a cart my best guess is when I get in the boat the sand off my boots gets down there through the hole under the seat

The sand is pretty easy to spray out of the transducer cover with a hose if you leave room. Make sure not to mount the transducer directly agains the bottom of the cover or it will collect sand easily. If you leave about an 1/8" or 1/4" space, sand sprays right out.

Ive been using a 7ah battery for the last 4 years on my elite 5 dsi. Its never died on me when I started with a full charge. Ive put in a lot of full days. Im actually surprised how well its held up. I fish quite a bit. $18  Not sure if the HDI draws more than the DSI.
