As title states, looking for something around my area, don't mind going into the states to pick it up as well.  Nothing too crazy in price, just want to take my little girl out to do some fishing.

Thanks in advance.

Get an oasis. Just got mine and love it. Very stable. Don't think I'd want an outfitter. Too slow.

Oasis is really my first choice but sometimes you just have to see what is available.  With my little girl on board, not really looking at racing these things but thanks for the input.

Keep in mind if you plan on trolling you would fatigue more in an outfitter as well. Speed is efficiency.

hahaha, i dont know how to troll for salmon.  I normally only fish for soles and greenlings.  But each time, i would drop a crab pot as well.  So that is basically all we have here really in terms of bottom fish.  Rockcod and lings are protect in my area here and it's not worth the trip to go over to the islands.  Ferry prices are crazy and i'm limited to a day trip.  You are so fortunate to be able to fish the open pacific.  So many different species, the larger size of fish and great limits.  Vancouver is quite limited with the types of fish you can catch but still fun each time you go out.

another consideration with an Outfitter is the amount of spray in the front...much less in the Oasis according to reports I have read comparing the two boats...cheers, roger

I've got no experience on an Oasis, but I've got a little input on the outfitter. To think of it in terms of solo boats, the Oasis is the revo and the outfitter is the outback. The outfitter is super stable, but you're not going to win any races in it (i know this has already been said). It's also going to catch more wind, so peddling can get tough at times, it doesn't cut through the water as well....so once again its slow. I liked the boat, but sold it to buy a AI. I never surf launched so i really can't say how it did there, always launched from a protected bay so i didn't have to deal w/ to many waves. (This was all while i was living in Hawaii). Just my input, don't think you can go wrong w/ either just know what you're getting. Good luck

well, i have a pescador right now so i think peddle drive will still be faster than using an oar.
