Got down to Homer late Saturday.  Started fishing around 4pm and managed a tiny king but big enough for a few meals.  I know Gravesjacob had a king and I thought I heard others were hooked or caught too.  So the kings are around.

Ran into 5 or so other kayakers which was really cool.  Love to see more and more new faces.

Day 2 I started early but no love from the kings.  Didn't mark as much bait or other activity as I did the day before.   GravesJacob and Lawngjohn have the Homer spit halibut hole figured out.  For me I am just too lazy.  Fishing 150ft down pulling up cod, sculpins, pollock...oh and a small halibut!  I think I will wait for easier pickings in Mid May for bigger and shallower halibut.  LOL.  Lazy and spoiled!

Considering its mid march, you couldn't beat the weather!  Just awesome!   I know global warming is looked at negatively, and it probably is in the long run.  But for the moment, we here in Alaska are going to take advantage of it!

Hopefully the weather holds for the derby!

So a few pics from the weekend!

Great pictures Rudy. Good winter king and halibut for dinner. I'll fish that deep for a fat little chicken this time of the year.

You definitely take some beautiful pictures! Had a great time sunday. First time ever trolling for me. Gravesjacob helped me get my downrigger set up and showed me what to do. I am glad I got to practice at least a little before next weekend.
