I have chartered an albacore fishing trip for August 31 on the flagship of Captain's Reel Sportfishing out of Newport. We have about 17 people, all co-workers and friends of mine, and could probably take one or two more people if anyone might be interested. The weather looks good, the fish are biting, seems like we are hitting it just right. It would cost somewhere between $200-220, depending how many people go. I will be videoing the trip, you can see some albacore fishing clips by clicking on the link in my sig and going to the "Fishing" page. I'll give everyone a copy of the trip on DVD.
I wouldn't mind heading out of Newport in my kayak on Saturday, weather permitting, if anyone would be interested in that, I'd take either the video or still camera out then.
If you're interested, get back to me and we'll see what we can do.

If I can walk again by then without the cane or being hunched over I'll be in need of some time on the water.

If it's calm enough I'd like to go out of Seal Rock.  Otherwise I'll need something gentle like Depoe Bay.

Hello Ronbo-
I'm very interested in pitching in on the trip if a spot is still open.
I'm experienced and have my own equipment, please give a call if you have an opening.
I'm Crescent City and would drive up for the event.
Please give a call if you can.

Thanx for the response,

ERIK

Erik-I think we have somebody to fill that empty slot, maybe we can go some other time.
Those fish in your photo don't look like a local Crescent City species, more like La Jolla Cove maybe? Check out the photos and videos in the link in my sig, I spent a lot of time out there.

Ronbo.....good call......he did catch them down in la jolla. A limit of 40-50 lb white sea bass. He is headed home today......maybe next summer.

I did see one out of port orford one year. Was freediving off P O heads and just making an ascent in the bull kelp. It was laying near the top of the kelp.
