Took the short trip to Whittier yesterday to see if i could find a halibut or two. Launched at low tide and made my way to the flats at Poe Bay. Apparently those are inhabited by Irish lords and sculpin, not halibut right now. Decided to catch some rock fish for a conciliation. Started in 100' and jigged out the rock walls to 300'. Most fish were between 250-350 fishing east of the rookery. I caught several widow rock fish and one nice yellow eye. Videos to follow, ihave to clean them up and make it look like I enjoyed cranking that much.  Didn't mark any bait balls or see anything that would make me think salmon were around in great numbers. Squid tipped 24 ounce jigcane up with these-

Yes it is, I'm too impatient to wait for the 14 ounce to get down to 300'+, so i molded my own weight.

Cool rig!
The foam Minecraft sword is pretty sweet too! My boys are jealous.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.
